It's been quite an exciting month here. I attended our first Icelandic National Specialty in
Wauseon, OH earlier this month with Poppi and Brana. Poppi went BIS under judge Diane
Anderson, and BOS under judge Pat Putman, and Brana got her CGC title.
My feet are still off the ground. The following weekend Bob and I took a trip with 2 pups
from our June litter to Shepherd Falls Farm in NY and brought back a beautiful moorit
ram. Steve and Mary have 2 pups from our 06 litter and their herd of Icelandics is
growing. The colors were fabulous and we did a tour of the wineries up the Cayuga, one of
the finger lakes.
We now have 2 Icelandic roosters. Hopefully next year we can add some hens. Thanks Carl.

The weather here in SE Ohio has been very warm for this time of year. We still haven't
had a fire in the woodstove yet. I think that's a first. Hay is in, firewood is in the shed,
sheep have been shorn, and the billy is in with the does, and the bucks are in with the 2
groups of ewe's, and the lambs just went to butcher this week. I'm still picking lettuce in
the garden, along with broccoli. We now have a new greenhouse that Bob has been working
on all summer. Our new crop of lettuce and spinach is already starting to grow inside, and
it's filled with herbs that I dug up out of the gardern.
We have so much to be thankful for.

lettuce and spinach from the greenhouse what a treat. Gracie has passed her health tests
and we now have our 2nd CHIC Great Pyrenees. Gracie has OFA excellent hips and her
patella's, elbows and cardiac are all normal. We are planning a late spring breeding with
Simon. If you would like to be put on a waiting list please give me a call or send me an email.

Lambs have all been born, and the goats have all kidded. We have some lambs and kids for
sale. After the weekend I'll be working on a for sale page. We had 8 ewe lambs and 6 ram
lambs, and 3 doe kids, and 4 bucks. Our broody hen hatched out a few biddies, I put some
icelandic eggs under her and I think we have 4, hopefully they are hens. I got behind on the
shearing with the rains that we had in May instead of April but hope to have that finished
next week. Gracie will be having her puppies any day now, we are very excited about this
litter. I have a waiting list started so let me know soon if you are interested.

Most weekends I've been doing agility with Poppi and she how has her AKC novice agility
title. It's great fun, she just loves getting out there showing folks what she can do.
We did get out to show in conformation one weekend as well. More agility planned for late
Sept and Oct. It has been very hot and humid here in OH all summer so we are looking
forward to cooler weather coming next month. The hay is all in the barn, makes me feel so
good, and firewood for next year is being cut on cooler days. I am milking 2 goats making
lot's of cheese. Keeps me inside during these hot days.
We still have a few Icelandic sheep, a Nubian doe in milk with or w/o kids for sale go to
Farm for Sale page Also a few pups from our May litter are still available along with a
pup from our 2006 who has been guarding sheep go to Older dogs/pups for sale

Happy New Year. Seems like summer rolled into winter instead of fall here. Not as much
color as we usually have but maybe that was because it was so hot here. 2010 was a tough
year for the sheep, the goats loved it, the dogs well they just go with the flow. Now that we
have snow and cold temp's the sheep are loving it.
Still getting out to a few agility trials, Poppi has 3 titles and moving to the next level have
presented a few new challenges. Working on speed and distance. We are also working on
finding a suitable stud for possible fall 2011 puppies.
Looking for a home for one of our 2006 Great Pyrenees pups. See the link below.

We have been eating lettuce and spinach from our greenhouse all winter so far. I'm milking
one goat over the winter and the rest are hopefully bred to our new Nigerian Dwarf buck,
hoping to have some mini nubians this spring.
I just added more photo's to the goat page, long overdue, and the sheep page.
A big thank you to all those who purchased animals from us this past year.

This past week has been more like spring than winter and that made it so much easier to get
a few things done around the farm. The birds were singing, the goats and sheep were
jumping and it was a much needed short relief from the single digit temps from last week.
Dancer delivered one pup this past Wed., he is healthy and strong and I'm sure will be a big
boy. We are calling him the "lone ranger" but he does have a stuffed lamb buddy to keep
him company. I will post a few photos soon.
Woolbur has gone on to live with a family that has horses along with 2 other GP's.

April 2, 2011
Yesterday we had our first kids, two does. They are doing well and already bouncing around
in the barn. I finally posted photos of Ranger, I waited because having only one pup I was
very tempted to keep him I now realize it's best to let him go. He will go to a working farm
as a guardian.
A couple weeks ago Poppi and I went to Louisville KY to a conformation show, Poppi got
Winners Reserve Bitch the first show and Winners Bitch for the second two shows.
She now has her two majors toward her CH. Yippie!! It was a fun weekend there were lot's
of Icelandic Sheepdogs strutting their stuff. We didn't enter agility, I missed the deadline
but it worked out well that I did. It was a jam packed busy weekend.
Our next trial is end of April and we'll have quite a few trials throughout the summer.
If you'd like to see us run give me a call or send me an email and I'll let you know the
schedule. We will most likely find a few more conformation shows as well this summer.
We are also planning a winter litter with Poppi.

June 21, 2011
Happy Summer. It's been a very wet spring here but we did manage to get a nice garden in.
We have been eating peas, chard, onions, beets, and broccoli so far. Lot's of herbs growing
and I'm back into making lot's of cheese. Working on Bob to get busy and dig me out a
cheese cave. He's doing some homework and we're looking for the right place. The goat kids
are doing well and growing strong.
Gracie is bred to Simon for July pups. I am very pleased with the pups from her last
litter. She has really taken charge over from her mom Joy in the goat pastures. Joy is
almost 11 now how time flies by. Simon and Keeper are with the sheep and keeping the
coyotes at bay, lot's of howling in the woods at night now. No lambs this year I kept the
ewes open. Last year was tough on the ewes and their lambs with the hot and humid temps
that started in April and continued thru August.
News for later this year. I have found a stud for Poppi and we will hopefully have a mating
late Sept. for Dec. pups. For now we will continue on in agility with a few trials coming up.
Almost forgot we have a new Iceland pup her name is Lísa she is now 5 months old. Bob and
I drove to JFK to pick her up. We just love her and so do the girls.
It's really been a busy couple of months here.

July 15, 2011 Puppies and new chicks.
Gracie had 10 pups on July 9th, 6 girls and 4 boys, all are growing and doing well.
Our Icelandic hen so far has hatched out 2 chicks and has about 8 more eggs under her.
Been canning pickles and beans, and hope to do beets this weekend. Jam has already been
made last month from our strawberries. It's so good to have your own food supply.
I've been making some French chevre, mixing in herbs and it's very tasty.
